CloseTab ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you organize tabs into project folders and focus on your work. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. This is processed by our authentication provider (Supabase) to enable sign-in and manage your subscription.
Extension data: Your projects, groups, saved tabs, favorites, focus timer settings, and preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage APIs. If you sign in, your account and subscription status are stored securely by our authentication provider.
Cloud Sync (Pro feature): If you are a Pro subscriber and enable the Cloud Sync toggle, your project and session data is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase) to enable cross-device synchronization. This data includes project names, group names, and saved tab URLs and titles. Cloud Sync is off by default and only activates when you explicitly enable it. You can disable it at any time, and your data remains stored locally regardless of the sync setting.
Google Calendar: If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we request read-only access to your calendar events. Event data is used solely to display your upcoming schedule in the focus mode view and to trigger optional event reminders. Calendar data is processed locally in your browser and is not stored on our servers or shared with any third party.
Spotify: If you choose to connect Spotify, we request access to control playback and read your playback state. This is used solely to provide focus music controls within the extension. Spotify data is processed locally and is not stored on our servers or shared with any third party.
Analytics: We use analytics to understand how the extension is used and to improve the product. We do not collect browsing history or tab contents.

Your extension data is stored locally in your browser. Account data is stored securely on servers operated by Supabase. If you enable Cloud Sync (Pro feature), your project and session data is also stored on Supabase servers to enable cross-device access. All data is protected by row-level security policies ensuring only you can access your own data. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
