Terms of Service

By installing or using the CloseTab Chrome extension ("the Extension") or visiting closetab.app ("the Website"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Extension or Website.

1. Use of the Extension

CloseTab is a browser extension that helps you organize tabs, manage projects, focus with a built-in timer, and block distracting websites. You may use the Extension for personal or professional productivity purposes in accordance with these terms.

2. Accounts and Subscriptions

Some features require a free account or a paid subscription (Pro or Lifetime). By purchasing a subscription, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscriptions are managed through our payment provider (Freemius). Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase.

3. Intellectual Property

All code, design, branding, and content of the CloseTab extension and website are the exclusive property of CloseTab and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Download, copy, extract, decompile, reverse-engineer, or otherwise reproduce the Extension's source code
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Extension
• Redistribute, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of the Extension or its code
• Remove or alter any copyright notices, trademarks, or proprietary labels
• Use the Extension's code, design, or functionality to build a competing product

4. Third-Party Integrations

The Extension offers optional integrations with third-party services including Google Calendar, Spotify, and Supabase (for Cloud Sync and authentication). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. CloseTab is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

5. Your Data

Your tab data, projects, and settings are stored locally in your browser. We do not access, collect, or transmit your browsing data. Pro subscribers may enable Cloud Sync, which stores project and session data on our servers (hosted by Supabase) to enable cross-device synchronization. Cloud Sync is optional and off by default. 6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Extension or its infrastructure
• Circumvent any licensing, subscription, or access restrictions
• Automate access to the Extension in a way that exceeds reasonable personal use

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Use it at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CloseTab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Extension, including but not limited to loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Extension or your account at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these terms. You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the Extension or our Website.
